Work Packages

Coordinator: ICCS

Objectives :

  • Manage the 5G-IANA IA’s scope, objectives, schedule, quality, effort and budget settings.
  • Ensure proper technical coordination and smooth integration of the multitude of 5G-IANA’s components.
  • Perform the required administrative work (e.g., EU reporting) and management of the consortium.
  • Ensure efficient steering of the activities, conflict management and establishment of a clear process for contractual, legal, ethical and gender equality issues related to the Action design.
  • Ensure innovation and knowledge management of the 5G-IANA action.
  • Provide continuous monitoring of progress and assure the quality of all project deliverables and outcomes.
  • Ensure high level of impact on innovation, as well as creating trust among participants through systematic IPR management.
  • Provide a plan for the publication of validation data for research purposes (ORDP).

Coordinator: LINKS

Objectives:

  •  The definition of specifications and requirements for the AOEP and its components.
  •  The definition of specifications and requirements of the AOEP platform considering the specific aspects of the OBU, RSU and MEC environments.
  • The definition of specifications and requirements of the 5G-IANA Automotive VNFs Repository and the 5G-IANA NetApps Toolkit.
  • The definition of specifications and requirements of the distributed AI/ML framework.

Coordinator: UBI

Objectives:

  • Design and develop of the NetApp Orchestrator that will enable straightforward porting, standardized development deployment and management of 5G-Network applications over 5G programmable infrastructure.
  • Design and develop enhanced interfaces between the Application Orchestrator and the NFV MANO layer to enable and leverage network slicing in multi-domain and multi-technology environments always by taking under consideration the 5G-PPP KPIs.
  • Design, implement and integrate an advanced, highly distributed NFV Infrastructure, encompassing cloud and edge resources, with support for different virtualization technologies.
  • Provide integrated version of the 5G-IANA Platform, including both the NOD mechanisms, the SM and Multi-Domain
  • Orchestrator and their APIs along with the AOEP and AI/ML framework.

Coordinator: NXW

Objectives:

  • NetApps Toolkit data-model implementation.
  • NetApps Toolkit APIs implementation.
  • Implementation of procedures for design/chaining, validating, packaging and on-boarding NetApps and VNFs.
  • Integration of existing 5G-PPP repositories of open-source VNFs into the 5G-IANA NetApps Toolkit.
  • Implementation of Automotive NetApp “starter-kits”.
  • Development of Communication and Baseline VNFs for Automotive services.
  • Specification and development of 5G-IANA UCs, intelligent NetApps implementation and showcasing.

Coordinator: HIT

Objectives:

  • Define the KPIs and validation data required to evaluate the actual benefit of 5G for the selected UCs.
  • Define the specifications of the experimentation platforms/testbeds to be used for the evaluation.
  • Evaluate each logical component, with a final SWOT (Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats) analysis for its application in the corresponding UCs.
  • Evaluate, validate and assess the impact of the overall proposed architecture (defined in WP2-WP4).
  • Evaluate and demonstrate the proposed UCs in the 2 5G SA experimentation platforms.

Coordinator: INC

Objectives:

  • Identify the factors that can affect the adoption of 5G-IANA solutions.
  • Involve start-ups and SMEs in designated micro-projects to propose new products and services based on 5G core technologies and validate the 5G-IANA developments.
  • Provide a market strategy for new stakeholders.
  • Examine the sustainability of 5G core innovation technologies in the Automotive 5G-PPP vertical.

Coordinator: VICOM

Objectives:

  • Develop a Communication and Dissemination strategy and plan for soundly promoting the progress and outputs of 5G-IANA and streamlining wide awareness.
  • Develop the necessary and impactful brand identity and communication materials and tools for targeted promotion, so as to ensure mainstreaming of project’s results to a wide range of stakeholders at all geographical levels and relevant sectors.
  • Coordinate the scientific outreach through the development of open access papers and participation in scientific and industrial events.
  • Liaise with relevant R&D projects, already established organisations/associations and networks, standardisation bodies and organisations to ensure knowledge exchange, interoperability of the developed systems as well as wide market penetration.
  • Develop the necessary methodology and assist partners to the preparation of homogeneous and effective exploitation plans for 5G-IANA.

Coordinator: ICCS

Objectives:

  • The objective is to ensure compliance with the ‘ethics requirements’ set out in this work package.
